Dan has extensive experience as a communications and public affairs strategist for global corporations as well as major not-for-profit institutions and advocacy groups. One of his specialties is crafting and then implementing media outreach plans to reach distinctly different target groups, from NGOs to government officials to opinion leaders. 

Among other accomplishments, he has ghost-written and placed more than three dozen opinion pieces for clients in major daily newspapers during his public relations career.

Prior to joining the Strategy XXI Group in 2000, he was President of DLL Communications, Inc., a full-service public relations and strategic communications agency in New York City. He was also Senior Vice President of Rubenstein Associates, Inc., Vice President of Enertex, Inc., Director of Communications for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and Assistant Professor of English at Western Michigan University.

Dan is a Board Member of Americans for Peace Now and Ameinu. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College in 1976 and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop in 1979.
