Promoting Research Innovations in Europe A global pharmaceutical company needed approval for the use of a certain kind of nucleotide in its products in Europe. Working in concert with the company’s marketing and research departments, we created and implemented a successful strategy to generate a favorable climate for product innovation through scientific research inside the European Union Scientific Committee. Our central argument was that companies will not make the investment in product research and development unless they have a reasonable prospect of marketing the fruits of that research to multiple regional markets.
